If you are a mom, you know that Winter means sickness, germs and doctor visits. In the 9 years I’ve been parenting, I’ve learned to just expect it. Germs in every public play area. Strep, stomach bugs, and cold viruses that lead to ear infections. It’s all on the menu for wintertime. I have become very good friends with my Pediatrician, and who wouldn’t be after visiting them at least a dozen times over the cold months.
Total, on average my 3 kiddos would require at the minimum:
2 strep cultures (1 for the original victim and 1 for the sibling who caught it second hand)
2 ear infections (for the random colds that happen and infect the ears)
2 breathing treatments (for my son who is prone to croup)
After an average winter that adds up to $300 minimum in co-pays and prescriptions
But not this winter! In 2014 I’m happy to announce that I did not have to take my kids to their Pediatrician. Never, not once. It really happened, I promise. Now, did we get sick? Yes. But, the germs never turned nasty because I fought them naturally. We had random viruses and we even had the 24 hour stomach bug <gross & violent> but the oils were enough to fight it off. No antibiotics!! Anytime my kids would come home and report that so and so threw up at school, Thieves went on their feet. Anytime they grew puffy circles around their eyes and started to look sick; Thieves on the feet. Anytime someone started complaining of a sore throat, Thieves on the neck and eustachian tubes. Let me explain the power of Thieves oil.
Thieves® was created based on research about four thieves in France who covered themselves with cloves, rosemary, and other aromatics while robbing plague victims. This proprietary essential oil blend was university tested for its cleansing abilities.
Thieves blend contains 5 very powerful essential oils that are anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, which work together to kill airborne bacteria and support the immune system. Clove and Cinnamon Bark are antiseptic, Rosemary, Lemon and Eucalyptus are known for their purifying and cleansing properties. In a nut shell, essential oils clean the cell receptor sites in our bodies that are damaged, mend and repair damage to the cells, and then reinstate the cell to it’s original form and function. It’s highly scientific, (not the focus of this post) and also very fascinating. They can also tell the difference between original cells and mutated cells, which is how and why they kill viruses.
I used about 1.5 small (5ml) bottles on my family of five for the winter.
A large (15ml) bottle will cost $44.
I could have bought 6 bottles for the price of co-pays and prescriptions.
Now that is worth it. I saved money, and most importantly, I saved my kids’ intestinal flora from the harmful side affects of antibiotics. Overuse of antibiotics can lead to a host of other problems inside the body, (not the focus of this post.) And I do, and will use them when necessary, but if I can avoid them I do. My youngest son, is actually allergic to Penicillin and all of it’s counter parts, so it’s a really bad day when he needs an antibiotic because the Dr. has to prescribe the big guns for a small infection. Not cool.
If there is 1 thing that I would have in my medicine cabinet, it would be Thieves oil. If you want to order some for yourself, and add it to your medicine cabinet to prepare for next winter, here’s the link. Order Today
