The Tox files is a book series and you must read the first one to understand and catch up with the rest of the books. Tox, the main character is a no nonsense, big hearted military trained unanimous person; at least in the eyes of all of his loved ones. His death was staged and the US government continues to send him on covert missions. In this particular book, Box engages in a more romantic relationship and finds himself protecting the people he loves the most.
My criticisms of this book include the past to present narrative that happens often. Just as I was really hooked into the story, the author would switch back into the past, and I would loose interest. This is why it took me so long to complete this book, but I would persevere through the past scenes, and then get back to the present action. Not my favorite use of tense but it did add something to the plot.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my review.
