The author, Angela Hunt, reignites the story of Samson and Delilah written in the Bible. There is not a lot of details given about these two people in history and Angela expands the readers imagination around the vents that could have taken place. As a side note, she does have a statement in the back of the book explaining some of the research she did prior to writing this book. She also gives her explanation of human nature and why she thinks Delilah sabotaged Samson. It’s very humble while she states that she does not think she is 100% correct, she’s just filling in some of the more human details to an untold story.
This book was very captivating, given the fact that if you’ve read the story in the Bible, you know how it ends. She sticks to the facts, and creates characters that will tug at your heart strings.
I would not recommend this book for a pre-teen as there is some sexual violence not appropriate for young readers.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for this review.
